Univita Announces Recognition from Alzheimer’s Association

Company’s efforts in supporting awareness and fundraising events result in significant contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Jan. 15, 2010 – Long Term Care Group, Inc., now operating as Univita Health, was recently recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota – North Dakota during their annual meeting with the 2009 Angel Sponsor Award.

Presented by the association’s Board Chair Jim Hawley, the Angel Sponsor Award is given in recognition of an organization’s commitment to give or raise $25,000 or more for the Alzheimer’s Association annually. This is the second consecutive year that the company has earned the award.

Univita has a long history of supporting the Alzheimer’s Association, including sponsoring and participating in numerous events and meetings such as the 2008 and 2009 Alzheimer’s’ Association MN-ND Memory Walks, with more than 150 employees playing an active role; an inaugural golf tournament to benefit the Walk; the annual dementia conference, ‘A Meeting of the Minds’; and the annual ‘Remembering Our Stars Gala’.

During the award presentation, the Alzheimer’s’ Association also recognized the company for its work nationally in instituting the Early Detection Alliance, an effort to immediately connect younger-onset claimants to the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 information helpline.

Univita Health Acquires Atenda Healthcare Solutions

Home health company adds integrated delivery of home care to Univita’s capabilities

Scottsdale, AZ, January 4, 2010 – Univita Health, an organization focused on providing the full range of services and support needed to enable a home-centered approach to independent aging, announced the acquisition of leading home care provider Atenda Healthcare Solutions, Inc. and its affiliated companies, including Florida Home Medical Equipment, Inc.

Univita Health Appoints Helene Roybal President of Its Integrated Home Care Business

Experienced managed care executive to help Univita enhance capabilities of newly formed strategic business unit

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Dec. 9, 2009 – Univita Health, an organization focused on providing the full range of services and support needed to enable a home-centered approach to independent aging, today announced the appointment of Helene Roybal as president of Integrated Home Care, one Univita’s strategic business units.

“We are fortunate to have someone with the experience and talent Helene offers as we expand Univita’s capabilities and ultimately integrate clinical care in home settings with custodial care,” said Bruce Baude, chief operating officer of Univita Health. “Given her extensive background in and knowledge of the healthcare industry, we look forward to leveraging her expertise as we continue to create an environment that better supports independence as people age.”

In her new role, Roybal will help broaden Univita’s capabilities to deliver care in home settings, while integrating it with additional services and new technologies. This combined approach will ultimately improve patient outcomes and enable care to be delivered at a lower cost than what’s typical today.

Prior to joining Univita Health, Roybal served as a member of the senior management team at United Health Group in roles which included president of the health plan division of United Behavioral Health, chief administrative officer of Ovations and corporate vice president responsible for AmeriChoice’s National Medicare product. Most recently Roybal was the general manager of AmeriChoice’s North Florida Medicaid business. Roybal also worked for APS Healthcare and CMG Health before moving to United Health Group in 2001.

Roybal received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Florida, and a master’s of business administration from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Univita Announces New Leadership Appointments

New roles position company for expansion and growth

Scottsdale, AZ, September 4, 2009 – Univita Health, a new company aimed at promoting and supporting a home-centered approach to independent aging, today announced the appointment of several new leadership roles.

Peter Goldstein, as Executive Vice President, will lead business development and client management activities for Univita across all lines of business.  Peter was a co-founder and President of Long Term Care Group, which became part of Univita late last year. Peter will continue to represent Univita to the long term care industry and introduce the company to health plans, employers and other large institutional customers.

Bruce Baude has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for Univita.  Bruce was the Chief Executive Officer of Long Term Care Group, which he joined in 2005.  In this role, Bruce will be responsible for all existing and new Univita operations.  In addition, Bruce will provide executive leadership to Univita’s information technology and human resource functions.

Jeff Sjobeck has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Univita.  Jeff has served as the Chief Financial Officer for Long Term Care Group since 2007.  Jeff will provide finance and accounting services across the Univita enterprise and will support the company’s capital structure, working closely with Univita’s investors.

Paul Kay will assume the role of Chief Information Officer for Univita, defining and leading the information technology strategy across the enterprise.  Paul has served as the Chief Information Officer for Long Term Care Group since 2008.

Stephen K. Holland, M.D. will provide overall medical leadership as the Univita Medical Director.  Dr. Holland will be responsible for the design and development of the company’s assessment and care management programs, clinical protocols, and outcome and quality measures.
