Scottsdale, Ariz. – Jan. 15, 2010 – Long Term Care Group, Inc., now operating as Univita Health, was recently recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota – North Dakota during their annual meeting with the 2009 Angel Sponsor Award.
Presented by the association’s Board Chair Jim Hawley, the Angel Sponsor Award is given in recognition of an organization’s commitment to give or raise $25,000 or more for the Alzheimer’s Association annually. This is the second consecutive year that the company has earned the award.
Univita has a long history of supporting the Alzheimer’s Association, including sponsoring and participating in numerous events and meetings such as the 2008 and 2009 Alzheimer’s’ Association MN-ND Memory Walks, with more than 150 employees playing an active role; an inaugural golf tournament to benefit the Walk; the annual dementia conference, ‘A Meeting of the Minds’; and the annual ‘Remembering Our Stars Gala’.
During the award presentation, the Alzheimer’s’ Association also recognized the company for its work nationally in instituting the Early Detection Alliance, an effort to immediately connect younger-onset claimants to the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 information helpline.
“We are honored to receive this award from the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota – North Dakota and look forward to continuing our involvement moving forward,” said Ted Duley, senior vice president of Univita. “This cause is especially close to our hearts as we work with seniors nationwide and their family members to support aging with independence and grace.”
